KATHMANDU: Senior litterateur Shyam Prasad Sharma, who is one of the forerunners in Nepal's progressive literary sector, died at his residence in Kamaladi, Kathmandu on Sunday morning. He was 98.
Sharma, who was suffering from alzheimer's disease, breathed his last at around 4 am this morning.
Sharma's mortal remains would be kept at the premises of Nepal Academy from 10 am to 2 pm for final tributes, informed Progressive Writers Association chairman Matrika Pokharel.
He will be cremated at Aryaghat on the bank of Bagmati River in Pashupati area today itself, added Pokharel.
Sharma is survived by a daughter.
